EL Picante Authentic Cuisine
About This Spot
Stepping into EL Picante Authentic Cuisine feels like discovering a vibrant corner of Mexico right in the heart of Lebanon. The atmosphere melds the spirited buzz of a lively sports bar with the inviting warmth of a neighborhood Mexican restaurant that welcomes both regulars and newcomers with ease. Bright yet casual, the space invites you to settle in at your own pace, whether you’re catching a game on the big screen or simply sharing stories over a carefully crafted margarita.
Conversations float over the hum of friendly chatter and the clink of cold glasses, creating a rhythm that’s both energized and unpretentious. The servers move with attentive care but never rush the experience, allowing each moment to unfold naturally. It’s the kind of place where you feel included, part of a small community gathered around good food and familiar flavors.
The culinary offerings here play a quiet but flavorful role in the overall experience. It’s not just about the dishes, but how they carry you through the meal — from the gentle heat of freshly made salsas to the rustic, comforting bite of a burrito that feels like a hug wrapped in a tortilla. Unique combinations and thoughtful twists keep the menu feeling fresh, rewarding those who take the time to savor every bite. Whether it’s the lightly fried corn tortillas that offer a different texture or the balance in the lightly spicy sauces, the food feels rooted in tradition yet open to small surprises.
Drinks, too, complement the vibe perfectly — margaritas come with varying degrees of tartness and sweetness, while the beer selection and signature cocktails provide just the right chill factor alongside the meal. It’s clear that attention is given to making each drink feel as much a part of the occasion as the food itself.
EL Picante isn’t just a stop for a meal; it’s a thoughtful pause, a place where local spirit is served alongside every plate and poured into every glass. It’s easy to understand why it’s become a favored spot for those who appreciate Mexican flavors with a personal touch and an honest, welcoming atmosphere.

New favorite Mexican establishment. Great food and some combinations I don't usually see at other places. Great servers, cold drinks and hot food. Good salsa, has a light late kick. We've been disappointed in the decline of some other Mexican establishments in the city...this is not one of them! We drove across town yesterday on empty stomachs rather than eat Mexican elsewhere! Chicken and beef combo in the burritos is tasty. I had the spicy burrito yesterday and it was great!

Oohh really tasty!! Food was amazing. We got the molcajeta, special burrito and special soft shell taco. My mouth is actually watering just thinking back. Margarita was awesome, preferred the one on the rocks cocktail as opposed to Iced. Also apparently the iced ones staff were really friendly.

Very nice place with great food! Stopped by with my husband and my friend for dinner and they had quick service, large selection, and everything tasted great. Good value as well.

Stopped in for dinner and had top notch service. Extremely attentive! The skinny margarita was tasty but had very little tequila. The house marg was not my favorite. Very tart. Hubs liked it alright. The chips were warm and fresh and the salsa was good. He devoured and loved the spicy burrito. I ordered carna asada street tacos. The corn tortillas were fried but still soft. I didn’t care for that at all. They were greasy. I ate the filling and left the tortillas. Next time I was request that they aren’t fried. Overall the food was good but I felt like everything was extremely overpriced in comparison to what was served and other local Mexican restaurants of the same caliber.

There are so many good mexican restaurants around, but their salsa is soooo so good. It's different than the other places and worth making a special trip to. They also offer a super quick lunch.

"The service was excellent, and the overall atmosphere was very pleasant. The food was generally good, though the rice was a bit bland and the fried dishes had a slight aftertaste. However, the prices were fantastic, and you definitely get great value for your money."

Arrived for a late lunch, party of two. Seated immediately, friendly servers. Ordered a lunch special #4 (burrito) and #17 (enchiladas) and a pitcher of house margaritas. Everything was hot and tasted great. Free chips and salsa! We'll be back to try more items from the menu.
